Hello Brothers and Sisters, My name is Ken Fecher and I am your new Chair of the Veterans Committee. I am going to take a moment to introduce myself. I served in the United States Navy from 1988-1992. I attended Naval bootcamp in San Diego, California and went to Radioman "A" school after that, which is also in San Diego. After Radioman school, I attended Morse code school in Charleston, South Carolina. My final orders were aboard the U.S.S. Harry E. Yarnell CG-17, which was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. I spent much of my enlistment underway (out to sea). However, I did get a wonderful chance to see a lot of the world. I felt honored and proud to serve my country for those 4-years. Enough about myself, I would like to extend a hand and say “thank you” to the members who served this great land. In closing, I am asking our Veterans (working or retired) to contact me or the Local with your name to be placed on the Veterans plaque at the Local 863. I am also looking for any Local 863 Members to join with me in becoming a Member of Local 863 Veterans Committee. I look forward to honorably serving this Local and its Veterans. Please feel free to contact me at anytime. I am in Dept. 676 (3rd shift).
